Our research group joins people from distinct backgrounds, at different stages of their careers, working together with one goal in mind, using available technology to look further and deeper into the mechanisms of memory-guided behaviors.

Miguel Remondes, DVM, PhD

Miguel Remondes graduated from the University of Lisbon in 1993, worked professionally as a veterinarian for 5 years, and started a PhD within the Gulbenkian PhD Program in Biology and Medicine (class of 1999). He did his PhD work at Caltech with Dr Erin Schuman, graduating in 2004 from University of Coimbra Medical School. He then did postdoctoral training at MIT with Dr Matthew Wilson, where he became a Research Scientist in 2011. In 2015 he started his own lab at iMM-JLA, University of Lisbon Medical School, where he is also a Professor since 2018.
