IN VIVO ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY IN BEHAVING ANIMALS

Picture
~30 sec of raw electrophysiological data from 128 channels recorded from Alpha and plotted in Matlab
Picture
Neural data (LFP and single units) of HIPP, ACC, RSC acquired from Alpha and published in a co-authored manuscript.
Picture
Our tetrode drive (white), recently built 30 tetrode EIB, loaded with tetrodes before implantation.
Picture
A detailed view of the Intan RDH2000 chips plugged into the EIB.

With this light-weight setup from Open-ephys, hooked to our 128 channel TT drive...
Picture
...we are able of using Bonsai to simultaneously record xyt position (left panels' traces in blue), as well as neurophysiology data (multi-colored traces on the right, one per channel, recording line noise...)....
Picture
...and detect the presence of a moveable object (white spot in the black screen) in an arbitrary restricted location on the field (the pannel on the bottom of the computer screen) to drive a behavioral state-dependent optogenetic manipulation via LED switch (bottom right in the Arduino board).

We can also use RasPi and Arduino to activate sound a and light cues triggered by the animal“s position.
